We have a experimental mission! Melrose has designed new traps which are more durable/ocean friendly, as well as easier to deploy. Our objective is to test if they work as well/if not better than the original design. To do this we are going to put both version of the traps under Blairgowrie pier, where we already know there are Tricoplax. If you and a dive buddy are willing and available in the next month to deploy them please let me us know and we can give you all the details. 

But ideally before we put the traps under water, if anyone knows of a water tight vessel with attached screw top lid, that has a wider mouth than a regular Nalgene bottle, please let me know. Unfortunately the new traps don’t fit in the Nalgene bottle, but the Nalgene bottles are perfect under water because they can be clipped off to our gear even when the lid is off.
